Dear colleagues:

At its September meeting, the NAAB Board of Directors approved the Terms of Reference for two new committees: The Monetary Appraisal Review Committee (MARC) and the Nominations Committee.

The Monetary Appraisal Review Committee (MARC)

One of the major and long-standing initiatives of NAAB is to standardize our appraisal reports.  We need to ensure consistency in writing and defending appraisal reports across Canada and know that appraisals have been carried out in accordance with acceptable standards. As such the Board has agreed that a peer review committee be established to review appraisal reports. Please refer to the Terms of Reference for more detailed information. This committee will begin its work by reviewing the report template and developing guidelines for its contents. This will provide the standard for the committee’s review of NAAB appraisal reports. The creation of this committee will further enhance the profile, the accountability and the credibility of NAAB as we move forward. Lara Wilson, a director on the NAAB Board, has agreed to be the Chair of this committee.

The Nominations Committee

In conjunction with the Monetary Appraisal Forum being held next March 2022, NAAB will be holding its first Annual General meeting since the formation of the Transition Board in July 2018. We will be looking to fill a few positions on the Board and have established Terms of Reference for a Nominations committee to oversee the selection of individuals who might be interested in the opportunity to be part of NAAB’s future planning. Christine Dupuis, a director on the NAAB Board, has agreed to be the Chair of this committee.

Call for volunteers:

We invite you all to review the Terms of Reference for each of the two newly established committees. This is a perfect opportunity to get more involved in NAAB’s activities and to network with your colleagues, all of which will enhance the operations of the organization.

Lors de sa réunion de septembre, le conseil d'administration du CNÉA a approuvé le mandat de deux nouveaux comités, soit le Comité d'examen des évaluations monétaires (CEÉM) et le Comité des mises en candidature.

Comité d'examen des évaluations monétaires (CEÉM)

L'une des initiatives majeures à long terme du CNÉA consiste à uniformiser nos rapports d'évaluation.  Nous devons assurer une constance en matière de rédaction et de justification des rapports d'évaluation à travers le Canada, et nous assurer que les évaluations ont été effectuées conformément à des normes acceptables. À ce titre, le conseil d'administration a convenu de créer un Comité d'examen par les pairs chargé d'examiner les rapports d'évaluation. Pour plus d'information, veuillez consulter le mandat du comité. Ce comité commencera son travail par la révision du modèle de rapport et l'élaboration de directives pour son contenu, ce qui constituera la norme pour l'examen des rapports d'évaluation du CNÉA par le comité. La création de ce comité renforcera le profil, la responsabilité et la crédibilité du CNÉA à mesure que nous avancerons. Lara Wilson, membre du conseil d'administration du CNÉA, a accepté d'être la présidente de ce comité.

Comité de mises en candidature

À l'occasion du Forum sur l'évaluation monétaire qui se tiendra en mars 2022, le CNÉA tiendra sa première assemblée générale annuelle depuis la formation du Conseil de transition en juillet 2018. Nous chercherons à combler quelques postes au sein du Conseil et avons établi le mandat d'un comité des mises en candidature qui supervisera la sélection des personnes qui pourrait être intéressées à participer à la planification future du CNÉA. Christine Dupuis, membre du conseil d'administration du CNÉA, a accepté d'être la présidente de ce comité.

Appel aux bénévoles :

Nous vous invitons tous à prendre connaissance du mandat de chacun des deux comités nouvellement créés. Il s'agit d'une excellente occasion de vous impliquer davantage dans les activités du CNÉA et de réseauter avec vos collègues, ce qui contribuera à améliorer le fonctionnement de l'organisation.
